Join the ANCA Board and bring your professional expertise to the governance of a dynamic and impactful arts organization.The Australian National Capital Artists Inc (ANCA) is inviting passionate, qualified, and committed individuals to join its volunteer Board.
As an independent, not-for-profit, artist-run initiative based in Canberra, ANCA fosters creativity and innovation by providing affordable, professional studio spaces and a vibrant gallery for contemporary artists. With 35 studios across two campuses (Dickson and Mitchell) and a program of cutting-edge exhibitions and events, ANCA has been a cornerstone of the ACT arts community for three decades. ANCA is governed by a Board that comprises both industry professionals as well as ANCA tenant representatives. Board members lead and deliver project based work in addition to ongoing governance of the organisation. Sub Committees made up of ANCA Tenants also contribute to the maintenance and development of the ANCA Studios, gallery programs and special projects. The ANCA Board meets once a month, ten times a year.
We are seeking a new General Board Member who:
Has a strong interest in the arts
Brings professional expertise to governance
Has strong community values
Skills in areas such as philanthropic fundraising, grant-writing, law, building design, facility management, or human resources will be highly regarded.
As a Board member, you will:
Participate in monthly governance meetings
Contribute to strategic planning and project-based work
Play a pivotal role in shaping ANCA’s legacy as one of the ACT’s oldest and most respected artist-run initiatives

EOIs will be considered by the Board in early February with interviews of those shortlisted following soon after.
