Paper, Scissors, Rock

Paper, Scissors, Rock | Recent works on paper by Julie Bradley

21 March – 8 April

Opening 6pm Wed 21 March

Stones are richly layered with symbolism and meaning and are used to represent permanence and strength, to celebrate and memorialize. Stones mark births and deaths, express love and hate and are used to both build up and break down.
Julie Bradley’s mixed media images of stones, represent and contrast the ephemeral with the seemingly permanent. The overlapping forms in her compositions imply the passing of time and forms appear to come forward and recede in the shallow space where they appear suspended.
The narrative plays a central role in Julie’s practice, with images acting as a vehicle for her personal story and life experiences.
